A few weeks ago I was lucky enough to be selected as a test knitter for a new hat pattern – knittingIlove’s Leaf hat. I liked the pattern a lot on the picture that Barbara posted and luckily enough, she expanded her test knitters circle to be able to include me and a few other ladies.
I am eager to see the published pattern! I will post a link to it. It was a very easy to follow pattern and the shape it produces is very cute.
This was probably the first time I was working with fingering yarn, I chose Alize Felicita in grey and pink/orange (ok, not sure how to call that color…). I finished the hat for probably 8-9 days, but it could be done faster, as I knit probably only about 2/3 hours in the evening.
I shot a picture with my phone, but wanted to send Barbara some good ones, so I called my favorite model (and cousin:D) Christine from http://christinefbella.com/ and we set up a small photoshoot in my backyard. Ok, it’s front yard and it’s not mine, but of the whole building, but still it’s a nice green space that can be used for a shoot 🙂
I shot with my Nikon D600 and various lenses – 50 mm 1.8, 85 1.8 and a vintage Helios 44M-2 (58mm/f2). This was the first time I was able to use the Helios, as Christie is patient enough to let me manual focus :)) And I must say that I like it a lot. Yep, it’s not sharp on a modern sensor, but I love how the bokeh is very visible…
